Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Big Man provides waste collection and rubbish removal services. They apply to all customers using our services within the waste collection service area, including domestic, commercial, and trade clients. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Please read this document carefully. It explains the booking process, payment terms, cancellation rights, responsibilities of both parties, and the legal framework governing our services.
About Big Man
Big Man operates as a professional waste collection and rubbish removal provider. We deliver services in compliance with UK waste regulations and operate as a licensed waste carrier. Our services are offered subject to availability and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Scope of Services
Big Man provides waste collection services including, but not limited to, household rubbish removal, bulky item collection, builders waste removal, garden waste removal, office clearance, and same-day services where available.
Services are provided as agreed at the time of booking. Any additional work or waste not included in the original agreement may result in additional charges or refusal to collect such waste.
Booking Process
Bookings can be made following receipt of a quotation provided by Big Man. A booking is considered confirmed once we have accepted the request and agreed a date and time window for collection.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about the type, quantity, and location of waste. This includes details about access, parking restrictions, stairs, lifts, or any other factors that may affect the service.
Big Man reserves the right to amend or withdraw a quotation if information provided is incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading.
Pricing and Quotations
All quotations are based on the information provided by the customer at the time of enquiry. Prices typically reflect volume, weight, labour, access conditions, and disposal costs.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for a limited period. Prices may be subject to change if waste quantities increase, access conditions differ, or additional services are requested.
Payment Terms
Payment is required in accordance with the terms agreed at the time of booking. Accepted payment methods may include card payment, bank transfer, or other approved methods.
Payment is typically due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Big Man reserves the right to withhold service where payment arrangements have not been confirmed.
Failure to make payment when due may result in additional charges and may affect future bookings.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Customers may cancel or reschedule a booking by providing reasonable notice. Cancellation terms may vary depending on the nature of the service and notice period given.
Where a cancellation occurs at short notice or access is not available at the agreed time, Big Man reserves the right to charge a cancellation or attendance fee to cover costs incurred.
If Big Man is unable to attend due to circumstances beyond our control, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the service.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers must ensure that waste is accessible at the agreed time and that safe access is available for our team and vehicles. This includes arranging parking permissions or permits where required.
Customers are responsible for identifying and excluding any items that are not permitted for collection, including hazardous or restricted waste, unless specifically agreed in advance.
Big Man may refuse to remove waste that is unsafe, unlawful, or not as described without liability.
Restricted and Prohibited Waste
Certain waste types cannot be collected without prior agreement or may not be accepted at all. These may include hazardous waste, asbestos-containing materials, chemicals, medical waste, and other regulated substances.
Customers must declare any potentially hazardous items in advance. Failure to do so may result in refusal of service and additional charges.
Waste Regulations and Compliance
Big Man operates in accordance with UK waste legislation and Duty of Care requirements. All waste collected is transported to authorised facilities for disposal, recycling, or recovery.
Ownership of waste transfers to Big Man once it has been collected, subject to lawful handling and disposal. Customers confirm that they have the legal right to dispose of the waste presented for collection.
Health and Safety
Big Man takes health and safety seriously and operates safe working practices. Our team may refuse to carry out work where conditions are deemed unsafe.
Customers must inform us of any known risks on site, including fragile surfaces, confined spaces, or hazards that could affect safe waste collection.
Damage and Liability
Big Man holds appropriate insurance for the services we provide. We will take reasonable care when removing waste; however, we are not responsible for pre-existing damage or issues caused by poor access or unsafe conditions.
Any claims for damage must be reported promptly and, where possible, before our team leaves the site. Liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
Limitations of Liability
Big Man shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits or business interruption.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter which cannot be limited by law.
Delays and Force Majeure
Big Man shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform services due to events beyond our reasonable control. This may include severe weather, traffic disruption, breakdowns, or other unforeseen circumstances.
In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to rearrange the service.
Changes to Services
Big Man reserves the right to make reasonable changes to services where necessary to comply with legal requirements or improve operational efficiency.
Any material changes affecting a booking will be communicated to the customer where practicable.
Complaints and Disputes
We aim to provide a high standard of service. If you are dissatisfied, you should raise the issue as soon as possible so we can investigate and seek to resolve the matter.
Complaints will be handled fairly and promptly in accordance with our internal procedures.
Data Protection
Personal data provided by customers is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Information is used only for the purposes of providing services and managing our business operations.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the services provided by Big Man shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions form the entire agreement between the customer and Big Man in relation to the services provided.
